Following Anne’s answer from the government that they were committed to control the export of live farm animals for slaughter after Brexit, the St Albans MP met with local residents and activists in parliament to discuss the issue.
The group were promoting the petition calling on the UK Parliament to end live animal exports as part of our exit from the EU. Supporting celebrities such as Selina Scott, Joanna Lumley, Celia Hammond and Jan Leeming were the first to sign in for the initial 5 signatures required by the Government's 'Petitions Team' for approval. Petitioners expect that they will achieve the 100,000 signatures that qualify for consideration for a parliamentary debate. Compassion in World Farming have also supported the campaign.
